    what is the total current for an ac circuit with 120volts, 60 hertz, resistance is 100 ohms and inductive reactance is 340 ohms?

    Assuming your circuit is an RL filter, use the following:

    i = I_p \sin (\omega t)

    v_i = I_p \sqrt{R^2 + (\omega L)^2} \sin (\omega t + \phi)

    where \omega = 2 \pi f and \phi = \tan^{-1} \left(\frac{\omega L}{R} \right).

    Note that you're given \omega L = 340 \, \Omega, R = 100 \, \Omega and f = 60 Hz and you're told the peak voltage.
