kk so the question goes as follows: The sum of a bumber and its reciprocal is 6.41. What is the number? I have allready started with 6.41= x + 1/x Please help me determine what the value of x is!

If: 6.41= x + 1/x , then muliply through by x to get: 6.42 x = x^2 + 1, rearrange: x^2 - 6.42 x + 1 = 0 then use the quadratic formula to find the solutions. RonL
