    Urgent

    There are two circles with radius 6cm each.one of them passes through the center of the other.Find out the area of the common place intersected by the arcs of the two circles.

    i dont know how to draw and explain...

    consider the area of the common place as two semi circles with the radius of 3cm.

    find the area of the semi circle 1 adn semi circle 2
    = 1/2 * (pi*3^2) + 1/2 * (pi*3^2)

    I'm not sure I understand correctly.

    The area I think you want to find is twice the area of the shaded segment. Please see the attached sketch.

    Area of segment = Area of sector - Area of triangle.

    <br /> <br />
Area of overlap = 2[\frac{1}{3}*6^2\pi - \frac{1}{2}*6^2sin(120)]<br /> <br />

    i think that i have wrongly proceeded the problem, i thought that sector will come as a semi circle... sorry guys....,
