Thread: Help!-Don't get this question Due tomorrow!

I need help with this. Could you please help me, it's due tomorrow.

King Kevin was in his counting house, counting out his money. $4,564.50, counted the king as he dropped the last coin into the bag. The king closed the door tightly behind him, and made his hay to the parlor where Queen katherine was eating bread and honey. MMy dear, he announded, there is a total of $4564.50 in our traveling fund. I counted 8 times as many half-dollars as quarters and 6 times as many dimes as nickels. THe queen asked, then how many coins were there of each kind.

What was his reply?

Don't we need to know how many total coins there are?

Let q = # quarters
Let 8q = # half dollars
Let n = # nickels
Let 6n = # dimes

.25q +.50(8q) + .05(n) + .10(6n) = 4564.50

I need another equation.

q + 8q + n + 6n = ?

Otherwise, I am at a loss.

I have no idea. But yes, it is asking how many of each type of coin.

I think that equation might actually work. I'm not 100% sure though.
