In how many ways can you choose a red five or a spade from a deck of cards?

I got 15 as my answer but i checked on the answer sheet and it says 14 =/ Mr F says: There is 1 red five and 13 spades = 14.

In how many ways can you arrange the letters of the word think so that the "T" and the "H" are separated by at least one other letter?

How many 5-Digit numbers are there that include the digit 5 and exclude the digit 8? Explain your solution. Mr F says:

1. Find how many 5-digit numbers you can make using the set of numbers {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9}. Call it n.

2. Find how many 5-digit numbers you can make using the set of numbers {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9}. Call it m.

Note that in both cases 0 cannot be the first digit.

3. The answer is n - m.
