# Math Help - Sets question

1. ## Sets question

Hi,

I have two sets:-

A = {3, 4, 5, 6, 9} and B = {3, 5, 7, 8}

I have figured out that A n B = 5 as '5' appears in both sets.

What I am now trying to do is work out:-

A u B with a bar over the A

but don't know what I am looking for.

If anyone can offer me advice on this it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

$A$ = {3;4;5;6;9}
$B$ = {3;5;7;8}

$A \cap B =$ {3;5}

$\bar{A} = A ^{c}$ (It is the complement of A)

Thing is we'll need Omega to see what $A ^{c}$ can be equal to.

3. o.O! I see, simple really.

Many thanks for your help janvdl.
