Complex Maths - Measurement
As part of my Residential Drafting course I'm required to complete Complex Mathematical concepts, which I'm really struggling with. Your answer is really appreciated:
Q: A mass rests on an area of 80mm2 and exerts a force of 320 kg m/s2. Express the pressure exerted on this area in kN/cm2.

Q: A mass rests on an area of 80mm2 and exerts a force of 320 kg m/s2. Express the pressure exerted on this area in kN/cm2.

$P = \frac{F}{A} = \frac{320~N}{80~mm^2} = 4~\frac{N}{mm^2}$

Now to change the unit:
$\left ( \frac{4~N}{1~mm^2} \right ) \cdot \left ( \frac{1~kN}{1000~N} \right ) \cdot \left ( \frac{10~mm}{1~cm} \right )^2$
(Note that the last factor is squared!)

$=0.4~kN/cm^2$
