    number pattern

    Hello I am hoping someone can help with this pattern
    (1,1) (2,8) (3,27) (4,??)
    my daughter and I are both stumped with this one.

    Its simple

    (1,1) = (1,1 x 1 x 1)
    (2,8) = (2,2 x 2 x 2)
    (3,27) = (3,3 x 3 x 3)

    So what will it be 4?
