Thread: What am I doing? Calc, Pre-calc, Trig, etc...

Hello all you hot & helpful math masters. Please help me with this:

I'm doing correspondence course, grade 11 math(Canada) - course is just called Functions & Relations. My final Unit is called, "Investigations of Loci & Conics."

The lessons will cover the following: Trig Equations & Identities, Investigating Loci & Circles, Ellipses, Parabolas, Hyperbolas.

My problem is when I am searching help forums or online resources, I never know if I should go to the Calc, Pre-calc, Trig, Geometry sections for fast finding of info I need.

Any suggestions or help categorizing would be greatly appreciated!

Trigonometry is based off of Geometry. Calculus is based off of Algebra. You're not really practicing Calculus just yet, but more so Algebra since you are analyzing ellipses, parabolas and hyperbolas. For info on trig identities and relations, the Trig forum would be a good place to start.
