    Convert the dimension from ft to metres. Now get area in the usual way.

    so the area is

    A=(10ft)(20ft)=200ft^2

    now converting this into meters we get

     \left( \frac{200ft^2}{1} \right) \left( \frac{12in}{1ft}\right)^2 \left( \frac{2.540cm}{1in}\right)^2 \left( \frac{1m}{100cm}\right)^2 \approx 18.58m^2
