    Volume, Density, Mass

    What volume in cm3 would be occupied by 1.177 grams of a material with a density of 8.163g/mL?

    Density is commonly measured in grams per cubic centimeter.

\frac {1.177}{V} = D

    We are given the density, so all you have to do is plug it in and use basic algebra.
