    Compute

    P(X)=3x^2-2x-5
    P(a+1)
    Using this formula: (a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2

    Substitute x by (a+1):

    3x^2-2x-5~\buildrel{(a+1)} \over \longrightarrow~3(a+1)^2-2(a+1)-5 = 3a^2+4a-4 = (a+2)(3a-2)
