1. ## Problem with series!

Hello,

given are the 3 first terms of a series:

p(3q+1) ; p (2q + 2) ; p (2q-1)

Use algebra to show that a possible value for q is 5.

Please help!

Thx!

What sort of series? Arithmetic? Geometric?

Assuming a geometric sequence will give the correct answer for q:

Apply the condition $\frac{2q+2}{3q+1} = \frac{2q-1}{2q+2}$ and solve for q.
