1. ## Multiply non-integral number until it's an integral number?

Hello,

1) I'd like to find how many times I should add a number with a fraction until it adds up to a whole number:
Given that fraction is 1.3
1.3 * x = a, where a = int(a), or fractionalpart(a) = 0
How do I find x?

2) My final problem is a bit more complex. I have two fractional numbers and I'd like to find the smallest whole number they both will come to.
1.3 * x1 = b
1.4 * x2 = b
b = int(b)
I have three unknowns and three equations, so it should be straight forward, but I'm not sure how to use the third equation. I think the first part of my question has the key to this part.

Transform 1.3 into a fraction, ie 13/10.

You have to find the smallest x such as 13x/10 is an integer, that is to say 13 is a multiple of 10.

It's the same as finding the least common multiple between 13 and 10 (Least common multiple - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), which will be a multiple of 13 and for 10, and the smallest ! ;-)
