Find weight in pounds of satellite.
A satellite is in the shape of a cube that measures 5 feet on each edge. If the satellite weighs 24 pounds per cubic foot on Earth, what is the total weight in pounds of the satellite on Earth?

Can anyone please explain how to do this problem. I greatly thank you for your time.

A cube has the property that: L = B = H

BUT Volume = L x B x H

Therefore Volume of a cube = L x L x L = \$\displaystyle L^3\$

L = 5 therefore \$\displaystyle L^3 = 125\$

Now we have 125 cubic feet. And it weighs 24 pounds per 1 cubic foot.

So multiply 24 pounds by 125.

Therefore the weight is: 3000 pounds.
