    Multiplying Monomials


    The answer is \pi x(x+2y)

    I am at a complete loss on how to solve this
    help!

    The radius of the big circle is x + y. Therefore the area of the big circle = ......

    The radius of the small circle is y. Therefore the area of the small circle = ......

    Shaded region = area of big circle - area of small circle = ....
