    divide two numbers using log table?

    How do you divide 3533 by 9043 using log table?

    using base 10 logs

    $\log\left(\dfrac{3533}{9043}\right)= \log(3533)-\log(9043)$

    $\dfrac{3533}{9043} = 10^{\left( \log(3533)-\log(9043)\right)}$

    so look up both logs and take the difference.

    then look up the anti-log of the result.
