Some businesses, government offices, schools, and hospitals have a phone fan outsystem that is used to quickly distribute important information to all of itsemployees.

A certain school, with a total of 100 employees, wishes to create a phone fan outsystem to be used in the event of an emergency school closure. The principalcontacts three other employees, each of whom contacts three others, and so on,until all of the employees of the school have been contacted.

Determine the maximum number of people who do not need to make a call inthis system.

I assume that we have to do 30+31...+3n? If so then 1+3+9+27=31. 31+34=31+81=112. Does that mean that the answer is 12?

1+3+9+27 = 40

100 - 40 = 60 employees left to call, which will be contacted by 20 of that 40

so, how many don't need to make a call?

20?
