If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.
$\displaystyle \frac {\left[ (-8)^6 \right]^{-2} }{\left[ (-8)^{-4} \right]^3} = \frac {(-8)^{-12}}{(-8)^{-12}}$ .............since $\displaystyle (x^a)^b = x^{ab}$
so this is just $\displaystyle 1$
i hate questions that have answers like that, it cuts the teaching lesson short. we didn't even get to use the fact that $\displaystyle \frac {x^a}{x^b} = x^{a - b}$
