    Hello,

    to 1.:
the greatest common factor is a^2. Put it before the paranthese:
    a^5+a^2=a^2(a^3+1)

    to 2.:
the common factor is the sum in paranthese. Put it itself before a paranthese and you'll get the product you're looking for:
    a(a+b) + 4(a+b)=(a+b)(a+4)

    Greetings
