    transposing music.

I am asking this question on behalf of someone else.
    I have no idea.

    The question is as follows:

I need to transpose a song from a (440) to 432. Wouldn't I decrease the speed by of the track by (440 decided by 444 minus 1)%? I'd like to use speed rather than pitch to preserve quality.

    Hey Melody2.

Are you trying to increase the pitch of something without changing the speed or trying to change both the pitch and the speed?

If you are doing the above, then something like Audacity should be able to do this for if its for a sound file.
    Thanks from Melody2

    Thanks very much chiro.
The question was posted on a kids forum and I thought it had very little chance of being answered there.
I had already done some googling and had found out about audacity but whether or not this is what was wanted I don't know.
Anyway, I have passed on your message and I have also passed on this web address so if 'Hyger' wishes to clarify the problem he/she can do it directly.
    Once again,
    thanks very much.
