    Re: simplifying equation

    You're trying to do a partial fraction decomposition.

    \frac{2x+1}{(x-1)(x+2)}=\frac{A}{x-1}+\frac{B}{x+2}

    A(x+2)+B(x-1)=2x+1

    x(A+B)+2A-B=2x+1

    Therefore A+B=2 and 2A-B=1. Solve for A and B and plug the solutions back into \frac{A}{x-1}+\frac{B}{x+2}
