Convert cm or meters to ml ?

Hi, I am doing a bonus question for physics class dealing with length of wavelengths and so I calculated that the Length of a bottle that is 25cm tall, I will need to use 19 cm of it. So I will need to fill it with 6ml of water right? How do I convert that to water?

Thank you for your time.

Re: Convert cm or meters to ml ?

You need to fill the bottle with a vertical height of 6cm of water, that doesn't necessarily mean 6ml. You can't say you need 6ml as a millilitre is a unit of *volume* and you do not know the volume of the bottle.

Imagine, for argument's sake, a gigantic bottle that is 10 metres wide. Clearly, pouring in 6ml of water into that bottle would not increase the height of the water filled by 6cm. You need the volume of the bottle to work out how much water would increase the height of the water filled by 6cm.

Re: Convert cm or meters to ml ?

Exactly what I thought. I guess I am just going to say "fill the bottle with water up to 6cm".

Re: Convert cm or meters to ml ?

If there's no more information given in the question then that would be the most accurate answer you could get. :)

Alright Great, thank you :)!
