    Wave Length

    Hi,
I am having trouble with the following question and I am not sure where to start. Any help or hints are really appreciated. Thank you for your time!

The wave lengths of the visible spectrum range from about 400 nm (violet) to 750 nm (red). What is the range of frequencies of visible light?

    Re: Wave Length

If wave length is w meters and wave speed is c meters per second, in one second you will see waves covering c meters which will include c/w "wave lengths". Since frequency is the number of wave lengths per second, the frequency is f= c/w.

Even if your text does not have that explanation, I'll bet it does say that "frequency times wave length equals wave speed".
    Thanks from sakonpure6
