Hi guys, could you help me with the next problem. I don't know how to solve it:
A nonconducting spherical shell of radius 15 cm carries a net charge 0f 2 μC uniformly distributed on its surface. A portion of the shell is removed, leaving a small hole. What is the electric field just outside and just inside the shell at the hole? Assume the rest of the charge on the shell is undisturbed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that just inside the shell at the hole the electric field is zero, since the EF is zero inside a sphere with charge uniformly distributed on its surface. Is that right?
But how do I get the EF just outside the shell at the hole?
