    Rly hard math question.

    Hey
    I just got this rly weird question,
    could you guys help me out? Thks alot !!!


    If the two lines are parellel, the circles are tangent to each other, and to the lines, and the circles are same size and their radius is 4, what is the distance from the top line to bottom one?

    Please help me, and thanks a lot.!!!

    4\sqrt{3} + 8

    I had this problem on the PSAT I took saturday.

    You can draw an equilateral triangle from the intersections of the circle and the altitude of an equilateral triangle is \frac{1}{2}b\sqrt{3} and then add the sum of the radii because that is what you have left.

    Uhh, im not sure i follow, Should the equilateral triangle inscribe the circles?

    The vertices of the equilateral triangle would be at the center of the circles.

    Thanks, this forum place thing is AWESUM, tell me if you need any server space, i got tons of thin clients just waiting to be adopted WOOO!!! OMG im so psyched, I cant belive how simple this was. This feels so great when you figure something out, and then its o snap, IM COMPREHEND THINGS ON A HIGHERPLANE OF EXISTANCE, only 4 more years then MIT here I come WOOO Thanks so much guys THANKS SO FRICKIN MUCH!!!
