I would like to work out the average mile split from a time and distance.
e.g

I ran 9miles in 46min 22second.
The Advergae mile pace would have been :???

Simply divide your total time by 9 to get 5 minutes, 9.111... seconds.

5:09/mile.

That's fast.

So (((46 * 60) + 22) / 9) / 60 = 5:11?? as it should be 5:09

i am a runner so just doing it for my training log.

It is equal to 5:09.111...( there is an extra 1/9 of a second).

(((46 * 60) + 22) / 9) / 60 gives me 5.15 ??? do i need to * (60*15)

It's 60*(.15) to give you the seconds.
