More vecs lol (I suck)
Vector A has y - component Ay = +12.0m A makes an angle 32.0 degrees counterclockwise from the + y - axis.

How do you do this more likely how do you draw this.

What is the x-component of vector A?

What is the magnitude of vector A?

So draw your Cartesian axes, and draw a vector that makes an angle of 32 degrees counterclockwise from the positive y axis. Make it so that it reaches up as high as 12 units on your y axis. Can you see the right angle triangle? Can you use trigonometry to evaluate the horizontal distance (x component) and the hypotenuse (magnitude)?

Re: More vecs lol (I suck)
First, since the angle is "counterclockwise from the positive y axis", the x component will be negative. Ignoring the sign, you have a right triangle with angle 32 degrees, "near side" of length 12, and "opposite side" of unknown length x. "Tan= Opposite side over near side" gives x/12= tan(32).

For Ax I got 10.64m, is this right?

I suggest you reread what HallsofIvy wrote, you'll know immediately that it is not quite right...

Lol I just saw it, I got 7.5m for x.

-7.5?!

Re: More vecs lol (I suck)
Correct (to one decimal place at least) :)

Now try evaluating the hypotenuse, which is the magnitude of your vector...

If the hypotenuse is the longest side of a right angle triangle, and you already have a side that is 12m, how can the hypotenuse possibly be 10.6m?

14.15m is correct.
