1. ## travelling boat problem

a boat is traveling relative to the water at a speed of 4.6 m/s due south.
Relative to the boat, a passenger walks toward the back of the boat at a speed of 2.0 m/s.

So with this,

so 1, What is the magnitude and direction of the passenger's velocity relative to the water?
in m/s also is this north or south?

and 2, How long does it take for the passenger to walk a distance of 27 m on the boat?
in seconds

and 3, How long does it take for the passenger to cover a distance of 27 m on the water?
in seconds.

2. Hello, rcmango!

1) What is the magnitude and direction of the passenger's velocity relative to the water?
Also is this north or south?
The boat is moving 4.6 m/s due south.
The man is moving 2.0 m/s due north.

His speed relative to the water is: . $4.6 - 2.0 \:=\:2.6$ m/s due south.

2) How long does it take for the passenger to walk a distance of 27 m on the boat?
At 2 m/s, it takes him $\frac{27}{2} \:=\:13.5$ seconds.

3) How long does it take for the passenger to cover a distance of 27 m on the water?
Relative to the water, his speed is 2.6 m/s.

It will take him $\frac{27}{2.6} \,\approx\,10.4$ seconds.

3. ## travel

I'm not extravagant hopes to travel all over Europe, but I love my trips in Spain. It is a beautiful country, and cities like costa brava hotel and menorca spain are all unforgettable. I'd love to go back for awhile. If you're in Barcelona be sure to check out the Picasso museum as well and the best way to get around Spain is by train. But I want to travel through all of Europe, it's my dream!

4. ## language

Mastering a foreign language today is very important. Many people are studying some other language except their mother tongue. I also want to learn foreign language very much. Especially want to learn English, Sprachaufenthalte or Italian. But I have no idea which to learn easily or convenient. So I hope someone can give me some suggestions. Any help would be much appreciated!
