    Qn on equations

    Line y=mx-3 does not intersect the ellipse whose equation is x^@ + 2y^2 = 2.

    by considering an appropriate quadratic eqn in x, find the range of values of m.


    this seems to be an easy qn but im stuck with it. help please!!

    Hint: Substitute for y into the equation of the ellipse to get a quadratic in x, for which the discriminant must be negative.
