    Complex numbers

    Hi. Please help me understand the following.
    Re{z}=1/2Re{sqrt2/2+j. sqrt2/2}=sqrt2/4

    I don't understand how this solution was gained

    Oh I think I've got it. Is it just cause its the real part multiplied by 1/2? And given that, Im{z}=j.sqrt2/2?
