Thread: Mixture With Prices Question

The question is:

Growell sells GradeA grass seed at 12cents per ounce and GradeA PLUS for 35cents per ounce.What is the cost of a 1 pound mixture containing 10 ounces of GRadeA with the rest GradeA plus ?

According to the book the answer is 3.30 dollars. But i am getting 0.20 cld anyone tell me what i ma doing wrong. Here is my work

GradeA seed	10 ounce	10x12 = 120cents or $1.2
GradeA PLUS seed	6 ounce	6x35=210cents or $2.1
Mixture	16 ounce	Equation

Equation: 16x = 1.2+2.1
16x =3.3
x = $0.20 Ans
Is this correct ??

As you found out, the grade A part of the pound costs $1.2 and the grade A PLUS part of the pound costs $2.1. How much does the whole pound costs?

Okay so i did a little thinking and i realize that if I just 1.2+2.1 = 3.3 which is the answer.

Now i realize that i am suppose to just add the two values
