So I've got this assignment which asks me to research about the fibonacci sequence F_n+2 = F_n+1 +F_n and Binet's closed form solution F_n=(1/sqrt(5))*((1+sqrt(5)/2)^n - (1-sqrt(5)/2)^n)
So i've gotten that far, but here's where I'm stuck at; "give two examples where this sequence models real life data and for each example, provide a diagram for the model, and explain in 2-3 sentences how Binet's formula models the data. If present, include restrictions on the mathematical model that need to be taken into account.
What I'm planning on doing an example on is probably the flowers; but I'm not exactly sure how binet's formula is involved in this; this question just makes me very confused about what I need to do and how I'm going to explain it.
The other example I would like to do is the rabbit breeding but again, I don't know how it relates to binet's formula but I do get how its related to the fibonacci sequence if I'm making any sense...
By the way, I'm in grade 12 and this is my Maths C assignment which is worth about half my total grades for maths C so... I need to be able to understand it with any assistance would be muchly appreciated thanks.

Yeah, I've looked up the page before and searched that up before coming here; it's just the question doesn't make sense to me. I know how the flower petals are linked with the sequence, but just not how its linked with Binet's formula.
So simply put, what I don't understand is how do the flower petals have anything to calculate with Binet's formula?
