    Dynamic volume formula

    I need a formula to size a rainwater tank based on:

    a. 18.7 litres per second entering the tank over a 11.6 minute duration

    b. 1.3 litres per second discharging from the tank.

    Can't you just say the maximum volume of the tank required is (18.7-1.3) \times 11.6\times 60 ?
