1. ## Numerical Pattern Problem

i am newmem, i have a problem about it.
i have:
a. 15476 ; 82735 ; 95368 ; 54347 ; 60235
b. 67552 ; 57323 ; 89852 ; 43399 ; 16600
c. 11572 ; 22469 ; 55317 ; 75649 ; 99565
d. 66927 ; 17543 ; 23891 ; 65993 ; 17650
e. 12769 ; 52773 ; X ; 53547 ; 72985
f. 69127 ; 67568 ; 88877 ; Y ; 66730
X is : 87533 , 71359 , 43392 , 51396 , 65721 why?
and y is : 62573 , 52596 , 94297 , 63522 , 62495 why?

2. ## Re: Numerical Pattern Problem

If only you had shared an actual problem statement. What is to be done?

3. ## Re: Numerical Pattern Problem

i mean, i want to know x and y, what number are they?, and why do you choose?
i want to know the rules

4. ## Re: Numerical Pattern Problem

...and that would be my question. What IS the question? What are the parameters or rules? Surely there were instructions on how to go about it.

Theoretically, ANY number can be used. You MUST supply a restirction.

My first attempt, using an interative local mean, produced x = 54695 and y = 67367

Perhaps we are to choose from the five available options? How is one to determine the "best" value? Instructions remain missing.

5. ## Re: Numerical Pattern Problem

Hello, narutosgt!

i am newmem, i have a problem about it.

i have:

. . $\begin{array}{cccccc}a.& 15476 & 82735 & 95368 & 54347 & 60235 \\ b. & 67552 & 57323 & 89852 & 43399 & 16600 \\ c. & 11572 & 22469 & 55317 & 75649 & 99565 \\ d. & 66927 & 17543 & 23891 & 65993 & 17650 \\ e. & 12769 & 52773 & X & 53547 & 72985 \\ f. & 69127 & 67568 & 88877 & Y & 66730 \end{array}$

$X\text{ is: }\:87533,\,71359,\,43392,\,51396,\,65721$ . Why?
$Y\text{ is: }\:62573,\,52596,\,94297,\,63522,\,62495$ . Why?

You still haven't explain what this is all about.

Are we supposed to discern a pattern in the numbers
. . and guess the values of X and Y?

How come X has 5 different values?

You owe us a clear explanation.

Hey! When was the last time Soroban and I COMPLETELY agreed on something? :-)

7. ## Re: Numerical Pattern Problem

A few milliseconds before the Big Bang?

Maybe more recent . . . when the Earth cooled.
