Determining the Exact Trajectory of a Launched Projectile

Hi,

I'm making a short video related to math/physics and I was wondering if someone could help confirm/simplify/explain better this one aspect:

The Quadratic Formula can be used to determine the exact trajectory of a launched projectile, correct? And can it be used to *predict* the distance of the projectile before it was launched?

This doesn't make sense. Do you mean predict how far the projectile will travel before it is actually launched?

You use two parametric equations, x and y as functions of time. The quadratic y equation will give you the time the projectile is in transit. Use this time to solve the x equation which give you the horizontal distance traveled.
