    Force question



    Can anybody help me with this question?

    I think you have to resolve the force of the string and the sphere into components. But I don't know how...

    assuming no friction, and balancing the torque about the centre of mass we immediately deduce that the line along the string passes trough the centre of the sphere. after that you can resolve in components or apply force-triangle method.
