Thread: What's the time?

How many minutes is it before 12 noon if nine minutes
ago it was twice as many minutes past 10 a.m.?

All my algebraic attempts to crack this things have thus far failed.

Let's see if I do this right.

x=minutes.

12hrs-x=10hrs+2x+9

720-x=600+2x+9

x=37.

It's 37 till 12 or 11:23
