    Polygon detection

    I have a problem like this:

    I. As you see (in the attachment) each of the closed polygons (as in the attachment) is called a BAY

    II. The logic I need is:
    The user of my program will select a bay (with a mouse).
    And after selection he would want the program to draw some vertical (or horizontal) lines in a bay at some spacing as shown in the attached figure:
    My question/problem is:
    a) How the program will detect a bay?
    b) How to draw theese vertical/horizontal lines as in the attachment in the bay?

    Your question is way to general. I assume you want some algorithm for something, but you need to be specific. What is the input; what do you want for the output? What is the model being used by the computer? Also, what language do you plan to use?

    Polygon detection

    Thanks for the reply and sorry for not being clear.Thanks a lot.I have described my problem now clearly in the attached word document (polygon detection-problem description(forum).doc.
