Help with two physics problems please?

How should I start solving these two problems?

A helicopter is ascending vertically with a speed of 5.5 m/s. At a height of 105 m above the earth, a package is dropped from a window. How much time does it take for the package to reach the ground?

    and

A baseball is seen to pass upward by a window 25 m above the street with a vertical speed of 12m/s. If the ball was thrown from the street, (a)What was its initial speed, (b) at what time is its velocity the greatest? (c) At what time if any is the velocity zero? (d) Does the object run in one direction or in both along its tunnel during the time shown?

Can anyone please help with these?
    Thanks
