    Energy and momentum

    The mass of the moon is 7.35 x 10^22 kg and it radius is 1.74 x10^6m. With what speed must an object be projected from its surface to reach an altitude equal to its radius?

    According to the conservation of energy
    E1 + U1 = E2 +U2.
    1/2*m*v^2 + GmM/R = 0 + GMm/(R+h)
    Now solve for v, given that h = R.
