    Half Life Problem

    Hey,

I was wondering... If the half life for something is 38 years, how much of the substance depreciates in a year? Is it .5/38, or is there some other relation that determines this?

    Thanks in advance

Just got it, the function is:

#of Atoms = Initial Amount of Atoms*2^(-time/Half Life)

So, in my case: 1mol*2^(-1/38) would be the answer.
