    complex numbers question

    hello,
    -B + Ci = 3 - i
    so B = -3, and C = -1
    Can someone explain how these are the values of B ,and C
    Please?

    That's basically the definition of "equality" for complex numbers:
    if a+ bi= c+ di, then a= c and b= d.
