An iron tank has length 4m and width 3m and it can contain 30 cubic m of water. A small model of the tank is made and its volume is 240cu cm. Find
i) The dimensions of the model.
ii) The ratio between the total surface area of the tank and its model.

You know that linear dimensions scale as the cube root of the ratio of volumes and that areas scale as the two third power of the ratio of volumes?

well i managed to work it out on my own...
Vm/Vo = k^3

So we come to know the scale factor k...
with that we may proceed to find out Lm, Wm & Dm(dimensions of the model) as we know the dimensions of the tank..

Thanks anyway!!
