Physics - Banked Curve Problem
A curve of radius 142 m is banked at an angle of 11°. An 734-kg car negotiates the curve at 78 km/h without skidding. Neglect the effects of air drag and rolling friction. Find the following.
(a) the normal force exerted by the pavement on the tires
(b) the frictional force exerted by the pavement on the tires
(c) the minimum coefficient of static friction between the pavement and the tires
I have tried over and over to find the Normal Force which should equal to the vertical component of mg which is due to the cars mass and the gravity of the earth. Either I'm heading in the wrong direction or I'm doing my free body diagram wrong. Any help would be appreciated
