# UNIT CONVERSION: um^2 -> m^2

UNIT CONVERSION: um^2 -> m^2
so im doing some extra credit work online and i swear 1.50 micrometers squared converted to meters squared is .0000015m^2

is it the computer programing fault? or is it me?

im doing 1.50*10^-6

help or suggestions is appreciated!

The conversion is: $1 \mu m = 1 \times 10^{-6} m \Rightarrow 1 (\mu m)^2 = 1 \times 10^{-12} m^2$.

(Headbang) i was actually thinking of that but the answer seemed to long to be right. but in the end my 2nd guesing didnt help me liek always -_-

Micro means millionth, and a million has six zeros, so move the decimal six places to the left to make the conversion.

EDIT: I overlooked teh square. Sorry.
