hi, my question is to find the area of this rectangle, im not sure how to work it out so could anyone help?

i think the answer would be 2?

$(a+b)(c-d) = ac - ad + bc - bd$

$(1+\sqrt{3})(2-\sqrt{3}) = 2 - \sqrt{3} + 2\sqrt{3} - 3 = \sqrt{3} - 1$

well i don't understand how you got that, how did (1+root3)(-2root3) end up as 2- root3 + 2 root3-3
