    Speed

In 1960, an earthquake near Chile caused a tsunami that killed 150 people in Japan. The tsunami travelled 18,500km in 22 hours to reach Japan. Calculate the average speed of the tsunami in kilometres per hour correct to 1 decimal place.

    Thanks, Chhoeuk

    Hello,

average speed = (total distance)/(total time)

    In this case s = 18500/22 = 840.9 km/h

(By the way: What exactly didn't you understand with this problem?)
