Need help with this formula and solving for F=ma
Hi, Need help. I have gotten alot of the questions, but this one stumps me for some reason.
Question - a 21.4 kg object is at rest on a rough table top. A pull of 50.9N is applied to the right of the object. The maximum frictional force between the object and the table is 33.9N.
Calculate the acceleration that this object will experience.

Acceleration = ? m/s^2

Now M is 21.4 kg
Vi = 0
F = 50.9
SO the object is being pushed, but because of the both forces given, not sure what to do.

50.9-33.9=21.4a

rearrange equation

a=(50.9-33.9)/21.4
a=0.794ms^-2 (3s.f.)
