Various doom sayers have been predicting that the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN will produce Black Holes that will destroy the world. While there is considerable scientific evidence showing that such an event will not occur there are theories, involving extra, compact dimensions of space, which suggest that Black Holes might be produced by the LHC. However any Black Holes produced in such theories would then immediately decay (a simulated decay of a Black Hole in the ATLAS detector is shown below).
The maximum mass of such a Black Hole at the LHC would be approximately 2.5×10-23 kg. What would be the Schwarzschild radius of such a Black Hole? You may assume that any effects due to quantum gravity or the extra dimensions of space may be neglected.
